Sarnia-Lambton in a deep freeze

Bitterly cold temperatures are expected to continue Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Sarnia-Lambton.

The national weather agency said wind chill values near -30 C to as low as -35 C are expected Tuesday night through Wednesday morning due to an arctic air mass.

The warning is in addition to a Cold Weather Alert posted by Lambton Public Health on Friday.

Residents are reminded to dress warmly and limit time outdoors.

Environment Canada says frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Temperatures will rise slightly Wednesday afternoon, however, will remain below seasonal.

The average daytime high in Sarnia-Lambton for this time of year is -2 C.
