Guelph storms over Sarnia Sting in overtime

Guelph brought the storm to Sarnia.

The Sarnia Sting suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the visiting Storm at Progressive Auto Sales Arena Wednesday night.

Sarnia opened the game with two first period goals courtesy of Matthew Manza and Tyson Doucette.

Easton Wainwright also scored for the Sting in the second period.

The Guelph Storm completed the comeback on two unanswered goals in the third period to force overtime before winning in the extra frame.

Sting goal Nick Surzycia made 36 saves in net.

Wainwright said the club has to figure out what they're doing wrong and come back stronger.

"We as a group, we're no where close to our expectation and standard," said Wainwright. "Yeah we did get the extra point but at the same time we're trying to make a playoff push and that effort is not good enough. It hurts."

Sarnia travels to Windsor Thursday night to face the Spitfires. On CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) at 6:30 p.m. beginning with the pregame.
