Spitfires down Sting 8-2

The Sarnia Sting are coming off a disappointing 8-2 loss to the Spitfires in Windsor on Thursday.

Windsor started strong with three goals in the first period and two more in the first half of the second.

Liam Beamish scored Sarnia's first goal, nearly 12 minutes into the second period, with assists from Zach Filak and Mitch Young during a power play.

Beckham Edwards scored Sarnia's only other goal five minutes into the third period.

The Sting will return to the hive on Saturday to host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
