Poor travel conditions expected Thursday

Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate in parts of Lambton County on Thursday afternoon and through the evening hours.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Watford, Pinery Park, and eastern Lambton County.

The national weather agency is forecasting five centimetres of snow, and blowing snow will cause reduced visibility.

There's also a risk of drifting snow on roadways with winds gusting to 50 kilometres per hour.

Motorists are being told to expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.

Be prepared to adjust to changing road conditions, and if visibility is reduced, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

For road conditions and other traveller information, visit the Ministry of Transportation's website or call 511.
