A 16-year-old is facing a dozen charges after they were allegedly found with a hockey bag containing guns, ammunition, and suspected fentanyl.
City police said the teen, who was wanted for criminal harassment and failing to comply with probation, was arrested on Wednesday by members of the Criminal Investigation Division.
During this time, officers seized a sawed-off Remington 870 shotgun, a heavily modified .22 calibre rifle, 10.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, an empty bulletproof vest plate carrier, and ammunition that included shotgun slugs, rifle rounds, and empty casings.
The accused was charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, tampering with a firearm serial number, unsafe storage of ammunition, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police said the young person was held for bail.
Their identity cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
