Sarnia teams qualify for OFSAA curling finals

Sarnia will be well-represented at the OFSAA curling championship, March 19 to 22 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club.

The host Northern Vikings senior boys' and girls' teams earned their way into the event after both winning SWOSSAA titles.

As the host school, they already had a spot reserved in the provincial tournament.

Northern beat St. Patrick’s 11-3 in the girls’ final and defeated Leamington 10-2 in the boys’ final.

St. Patrick's and Leamington each advanced despite the losses.

Northern's boys' team is skipped by Carter Pruliere, and he's joined by lead Trevor Marut, second Jai Starrett, vice William Ross and alternate Sean Virostek.

The girls' team is made up of skip Felix Roberts, vice Lindsey Janes, lead Rebecca Walker, second Abbie Chalmers and alternate Kennedy Policicchio.

Sting deal Beamish to Otters

The Sarnia Sting have traded forward Liam Beamish to the Erie Otters for a 5th round pick in 2027 and a 3rd rounder in 2028.

Sting acquire physical forward

The OHL club has acquired 19-year-old forward Parker Holmes from the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for 3rd and 6th round draft picks in 2028.
