Humane Society hosts first ever cat festival

Animal lovers are sure to have a great time at the Sarnia and District Humane Society's first annual cat festival.

The brand new family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, March 8 at DeGroot's Nurseries.

All of the proceeds support caring costs for over 1,000 cats who come into the society's care every year.

Highlights of the festival include a Cat Café, an activity area for children, vendors, a painting session with the Painted Cat, face painting, animal balloon making and more.

Petrolia Ferals will also be on hand to help out with the adoption area.

Those planning to attend are being told not to bring their cats along with them.

The event taking place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

It's $10 to get in, but children aged 12 and under are free.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
