Severe storms result in power outages and flooded streets

Storms that rumbled through Sarnia-Lambton Wednesday resulted in scattered power outages and road closures.

Bluewater Power dealt with a handful of storm and lighting related outages between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Thursday, affecting a total of over 6,800 customers. All power has since been restored.

Hydro One was reporting scattered outages Thursday morning near Mooretown, Petrolia, Camlachie, Warwick Township and Grand Bend. The utility was hoping to have power back on by 12 p.m.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) updated its flood outlook to a flood watch for the watershed, saying water levels are rising quickly elevating into natural floodplain areas, parks and farm fields.
