Voter information cards in the mail

Elections Canada seems to have learned from the rushed election in Ontario, and has already started mailing out voter information cards.

According to the organization, most eligible Canadians who are already registered in the National Register of Electors and should receive their voter information card in the mail by Friday, April 11,

The card tells voters where and when to vote. It also has information about advanced voting and the accessibility of polling places.

The voter information card can also be used as a voter's proof of address at the polls. It can be used alongside a valid piece of ID, though it's not necessary.

If you haven't received a voter information card by April 11, or if the information on your card is incorrect, contact Elections Canada.

If you haven't received a card by election day, there are other ways to prove your identity. That list is available here.

During the federal election, advanced polling stations will be available on April 18-April 21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Election day is Monday, April 28.
