Crash damages traffic lights

A collision caused a closure of a Sarnia intersection for over eight hours Saturday.

The crash happened at Michigan Avenue and Indian Road at 6:45 p.m. Saturday evening.

Police said an eastbound vehicle ran a red light and hit an SUV travelling southbound on Indian Road.

Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.

Michigan Avenue was closed from Briarfield Avenue to O'Rae Avenue and Indian Road was closed from Errol Road to Rosedale Avenue while repairs were completed.

The road re-opened just after 4:45 a.m. Sunday.

Information on injuries or if charges were laid were not immediately available.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
