Pathways Health Centre for Children is inviting the public to the Murphy Road site this week to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Chief Executive Officer Alison Morrison is hoping to see past and present clients, their families, staff and volunteers at their open house on Wednesday.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to reconnect," said Morrison. "As part of this, we're hearing our stories of impact. Past clients have come to us with letters and words of thanks for the impact that Pathways has had on their [lives]."
She said they'll be showcasing Pathways' journey over the past 50 years.
"When Pathways first opened its doors in 1975, it was intended to provide services to just over 200 children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs. This past year, we provided services to over 5,000 children and youth, and have a staff that's now approaching 200 in number. So, there certainly has been much growth to respond to the needs in our community."
The May 14 open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"We're encouraging folks to just drop-in and have a self guided tour through the organization, where you can learn about our services. Try some therapy activities, connect with staff, hear stories of impact and enjoy some free refreshments, hot dogs and hamburgers," Morrison said.
