2025 Stefanko Award recipients announced

The Lambton Kent District School Board is recognizing two Sarnia students as this year's Stefanko Award recipients.

Bella Gagné of Great Lakes Secondary School and Alex Pretty of Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School were congratulated this week.

The Stefanko Award honours high school student-athletes from the Sarnia-Lambton area who display outstanding athletic and academic achievements and participate in extra-curricular programs.

Both Gagné and Pretty have competed at the OFSAA level and were named Athlete of the Year at their respective schools.

"They represent the best of what it means to be a student-athlete—excelling in the classroom, on the field, and in their communities," said LKDSB Director Gary Girardi. “We also want to recognize all of the LKDSB students who were nominated for this award.”

Gagné will begin her studies at the University of Guelph this fall, while Pretty will attend Wilfrid Laurier University.
