Police charge man after alleged stabbing at Sarnia park

An 18-year-old Sarnia man is being charged after allegedly stabbing someone during a fight.

At around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to Canatara Park after getting a report of a potential assault.

There officers found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a single stab wound to his upper arm.

He was treated by the officers, later being transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The boy told police he and another man, who he did not know, got into a verbal altercation. A physical fight ensued with the man reportedly pulling out a knife and stabbing the boy in the arm.

After investigating, police identified the suspect who later turned himself in.

He's since been charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released with a future court date.
