Sarnia Police recover weapons in search of Westbury Court house

A 27-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges for allegedly possessing illicit firearms, after local police executed a search over the weekend.

The Sarnia Police Service served a warrant on May 17 at a residence on Westbury Court in what they say was in relation to firearm offences.

According to police, officers located an 870 Remington 12-gauge shotgun, an unmarked Black Starter pistol, with 34 blank 9mm rounds, and two expandable batons.

Police say the accused was arrested simultaneously on Churchill Road by members of the Emergency Response Team.

He's facing several charges including two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and careless storage of ammunition.
