UPDATE: Break and enter suspect arrested

Sarnia police have arrested a man in connection to a commercial break and enter

Police responded to a business on Confederation Street, west of Alice Street, just after 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 17.

Officers confirmed a break and enter had taken place and a white 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk was stolen.

The vehicle was located on the same day, unoccupied, in the area of Collingwood and Maxwell Streets.

On Wednesday, Sarnia police said the male suspect was spotted by officers standing at a black Jeep Wrangler on Vidal Street near Talfourd Street and arrested.

Officers determined the vehicle and its' keys were also stolen during the Saturday morning break and enter.

The 36-year-old man is charged with break and enter and theft, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft over $5,000, mischief, and failing to comply with probation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
