High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Sarnia police seized a significant amount of cocaine from a residence on Vidal Street South on Wednesday.The Major Case Action Team (MCAT), with the support of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit, searched the home at around 4:50 p.m.Just over 70 grams of cocaine, just over nine grams of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a BB gun, and almost $2,100 in cash was seized.Police said the estimated street value of the drugs is just over $9,000.A 37-year-old Sarnia man was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with probation.
