Catch the Ace winner takes home over $700K

Congratulations to Jack Swanson.

The local resident and 1st Hussars veteran found the ace of spades in the Sarnia Legion's Branch 62 weekly Catch the Ace Draw.

Swanson won a total of $718,154.50 after selecting envelope 27 which contained the winning playing card.

President Les Jones made the announcement at the downtown Legion Thursday night.

Since the Legion started it's Catch the Ace lottery, an estimated total of $2.1 million has been raised with half of that benefiting weekly and grand prize winners.

The other half has gone to the Sarnia Legion Lottery Fund to assist with the capital building fund and area charities.

The 2024 fundraiser generated a total of $654,910 over 46 weeks.

The OHL club has acquired 19-year-old forward Parker Holmes from the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for 3rd and 6th round draft picks in 2028.
