Optimist Club of Moore hosts first book sale

About 5,000 books will be for sale as the Optimist Club of Moore hosts its first book sale in Corunna.

Club member William (Bill) Moran said there was a "phenomenal" amount of community support when the club asked for donations of gently used books.

"The community has been amazing," said Moran. "We have a great deal of fiction, we have some children's books, some teen graphic novels. We've just got some great summer reading."

Most of the books will be priced at $1 or $2. Only cash will be accepted.

"We are doing this event as a fundraiser to help with some of our club activities," he said. "It's a first year event. It's totally unknown what we will raise, but we're going to be happy with anything we do."

The book sale will be held on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Optimist Hall, located at 392 Lyndoch St. in Corunna.
