St. Clair Pkwy. temporarily closes for River Run

Motorists will want to avoid a section of the St. Clair Parkway on Sunday morning as hundreds of runners will lace up for the St. Clair River Run.

The event route will travel along the St. Clair River through Sombra and Port Lambton.

According to the Race Roster website, over 500 people registered to participate.

Funds raised will be reinvested into St. Clair Township to support local initiatives, programs, and charities.

The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. on June 1.

To accommodate the event, St. Clair Parkway will be closed from Wilkesport Line to Pointe Line, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The Township of St. Clair said the road closure will be removed as the race progresses southward.

During the closure, there will be emergency access only, no local traffic. Intersecting side streets will also be closed at St. Clair Parkway.
