Food trucks to fill Hiawatha Horse Park

A group of food trucks will be stationed at the Hiawatha Horse Park on Friday for the Savoury Sarnia Food Truck Festival.

The third-annual family-friendly event will feature trucks from Lambton County, Severn and Richmond Hill.

Gateway Casinos General Manager April Davies said there will be eight food trucks this year.

"[There's] a little bit of something for everyone," said Davies. "There's local favourites, OMG Poutine and Truckin' Mama's and then we also have an ice cream truck, Bubbles Ice Cream," she said.

Other food trucks include All Fired Up, Bluewater Gourmet Catering, Mustache Burger, Captain Marks Fish and Chips and Irie Myrie's Caribbean Catering Company.

Davies said the event has evolved over the last couple of years.

"We have live entertainment this year, so we have larger group , Totally Acoustic will be playing live music from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.," she said.

Davies said there will also be a Girl Guides set up.

"Girl Guides came out last year and they have a chocolate mint cookie that they don't sell year-round but it is very popular and they sold really early, so if you're a fan of that chocolate mint thin cookie then you need to get there early," she said.

The free event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for Big Brothers/Big Sisters Sarnia-Lambton.

Organizers are asking residents to leave their pets at home.
