Sarnia truck driver wins big with ENCORE

A Sarnia man is celebrating a big financial windfall after matching six of the seven ENCORE numbers in a recent Lotto Max draw.

Muhamed Becirspahic won $100,000 in the draw on April 22.

The truck driver and married father of one plays LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, and ONTARIO 49 a couple times a month.

He said he was on his way to visit with family when he decided to purchase a ticket.

"A couple of days later, I went to the store to check my ticket. When I scanned it using the store’s ticket checker, I was left frozen in shock as I stared at the prize amount," Becirspahic recalled while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

He said he was eager to share the news with his wife.

“When I told her I’d won, she thought I was joking. It wasn’t until I got home and showed her the validation slip that it started to sink in. She was just as surprised as I was, and of course, very happy,” said Becirspahic.

He plans to pay some bills and help his daughter with her education with his winnings, and possibly treat himself to a new car or vacation.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Finch Drive in Sarnia.
