High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Sarnia woman was arrested for impaired driving after residents saw her behaving erratically.On Saturday, June 14 at 7:55 p.m. city police were called for reports of a possible impaired driver.Residents saw a woman out of her vehicle in the middle of Russell Street behaving erratically and they attempted to move her vehicle for her.Police said the saw the 38-year-old woman displaying signs of intoxication and when she attempted to re-enter her vehicle she was arrested.The woman was allegedly more than twice over the legal limit. She was released for a future court date and her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her licence has been suspended for 90.
