LCDS to celebrate 70 years with outdoor concert

A free outdoor concert is planned in Petrolia on Saturday to mark the 70th anniversary of Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS).

The event will feature The Hip Machine, a high energy tribute to Canadian rock legends The Tragically Hip.

Lambton County's Colt McLauchlin is scheduled to open the show at the Petrolia Farmers Market.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate 70 years of inclusion, support, and community with an event that reflects the spirit of LCDS,” said LCDS Executive Director Nick Salaris. “This concert is our way of saying thank you to the people of Petrolia and Lambton County for their ongoing support.”

Gates open at 6 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and non-perishable food or cash donation in support of the Petrolia Community Refrigerator and Food Bank.

Lang's Bus Lines has donated free shuttle service for the evening, with 27 stops on two routes throughout the Town of Petrolia. The shuttles will run between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
