High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A London man faces drug charges following a traffic stop in the town of Wyoming.On Tuesday, June 17 a vehicle was pulled over by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) just before 7:45 p.m. on Confederation Line, east of Ketter Way.During the traffic stop police allegedly found suspected cocaine, Canadian currency and other offence-related property.The 41-year-old was arrested without incident and is charged with possession of a schedule one substance for purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a release order.The accused was held pending a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 23 in Sarnia.
