Work local, live better expo to be held in Watford

Officials organizing a career and business expo in Watford at the end of the month are hoping for a good turnout.

It will be hosted by the Lambton Works Centre at the East Lambton Community Complex on Centennial Avenue on Wednesday, June 25.

County of Lambton Program Supervisor Lisa Jacaruso said whether you're looking for work, want to build your network, or connect to local supports to live better... this event is for you.

"With Watford being a central hub in our rural area, it was a logical and strategic location for a county-wide rural focused event," said Jacaruso. "We already have a wide range of vendors, including businesses looking to hire, training and educational organizations, and community services that support our local rural residents."

Jacaruso said they've secured about 30 to 40 vendors.

"The County of Lambton will be there, Warwick Township, our county libraries will be there, Lambton County Developmental Services, we'll have Bluewater Power, the YMCA, Home Hardware and some of our rural childcare providers," she said.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"We even want families to come out. We're going to have ice cream vendors there, and hot dog vendors, and games, and fun. We want it to be like a community event. I know school is winding down [so] if families want to come out, check it out and grab some information -- it's for everybody," Jacaruso said.
