Shred it fundraiser returns

The Sarnia Police Service has partnered with A&W Security and Lambton Mall to host its annual "shred it" fundraiser this weekend.

As part of the initiative, residents can have their personal documents, such as bills and bank statements, shredded on Saturday, June 28.

However, boxes full of business documents will not be accepted and people are asked not to bring magazines.

Sarnia police previously warned residents to always shred personal documents instead of throwing them in the garbage, to avoid becoming a fraud victim.

Cash donations will be collected to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The shred it event will be held at the Canadian Tire parking lot from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
