Sarnia police arrest man for allegedly trafficking drugs

A 23-year-old man has been charged with allegedly trafficking drugs in the Sarnia area.

Police arrested the man on Thursday during a traffic stop in Petrolia. During the arrest, officers were forced to use a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) after the man reportedly became combative.

During a search of his vehicle, officers found eight ounces of fentanyl, 13 ounces of methamphetamine, and 10.5 ounces of cocaine. The estimated worth of the drugs is over $222,000.

Police also searched an Airbnb where the man was staying in Petrolia. There, they found over $12,000 in cash, around seven grams of MDMA, food coloring, Ziploc bags, and a functioning digital scale.
