High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Strathroy-Caradoc police are charging a 27-year-old man with first-degree murder.At around 5 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a medical emergency on Ashby Crescent in Strathroy. There, they found 27-year-old Endy Moniz suffering from stab wounds. He later passed away on the scene from his injuries.After investigating, police arrested and charged Joel Peralta Del Valle with first-degree murder. He currently remains in police custody.Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police at 519-245-1250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
