Impaired driver arrested operating stolen vehicle

Lambton OPP recovered a vehicle, reported stolen out of London, after being called about a possible impaired driver.

On Sunday, June 29, at around 7:25 p.m., officers stopped the car on St. Clair Parkway, near Mooretown.

A 39-year-old man from London was arrested, and is facing charges of operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, dangerous operation, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and mischief - destroys or damages property.

The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 4 in Sarnia.

The OPP are thanking the person who reported this incident and said public assistance plays a vital role in keeping our roadways safe from impaired and dangerous drivers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
