Multiple impaired driving arrests made Saturday

Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had their hands full on Saturday, dealing with drivers believed to be intoxicated.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) asked OPP officers to come to the Blue Water Bridge regarding a possible impaired driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old Sarnia woman was arrested. She faces two impaired driving charges.

Her vehicle was impounded and her licence has been suspended for 90 days.

Later that same day, OPP officers also arrested a 41-year-old woman from Forest for driving under the influence.

Provincial police said officers arrested the woman just after 1:40 p.m. She was pulled over on Ontario Street North in Grand Bend after police received a traffic complaint.

The woman faces two impaired driving charges, and her licence was suspended for 90 days. She was later released from police custody with a future court date.

If you see a driver who you think may be impaired by alcohol or drugs, the OPP ask you to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or 911.
