Assault charges laid in trespassing investigation

A 46-year-old women faces charges in an assault at a Sarnia convenience store on Friday, July 4.

Police were called to the area of Exmouth Street and Copland Road at 8:30 p.m. when a woman was allegedly shoving a security guard leaving a small scratch.

Officers said customers alerted security guards a woman was behind the building pulling her pants up after defecating on the ground.

She allegedly refused to clean it up with a bag and was ordered off the property.

Police said shortly after being removed she returned to loiter at the doors when she was approached by two security guards and became combative.

When officers arrived she was taken into custody.

She was held for bail on assault, mischief and break of probation charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
