Assault charge laid in trespassing incident

Sarnia police arrested an aggressive woman on Friday when responding to a trespassing call.

Officers were called to an Exmouth Street store, near Trillium Park, at around 8:30 p.m.

Police were told customers alerted store security of a woman behaving in a disruptive and disturbing manner.

Security located the woman behind the store, pulling up her pants after defecating on the ground.

Police said she ultimately refused to clean it up with a bag and was ordered off the property.

Shortly after being removed from the property, police said she returned to the store and was loitering at the doors.

When confronted by security officers, it's alleged she shoved one of them, leaving a small scratch.

Sarnia police arrived on scene to observe security dealing with the woman and she was subsequently arrested.

The 46-year-old is charged with assault, mischief under $5,000, and breach of probation.
