Suspect sought in Sarnia clothing store theft

Sarnia police are looking for a suspect in an early morning break and enter at a clothing store in the city's downtown.

Officers were called by a witness to 192 Christina Street North at around 4:24 a.m. Sunday.

It's alleged the suspect smashed the storefront glass and entered the building, leaving with multiple clothing items.

Police said despite a quick response by officers, the suspect had already fled the scene on foot. A number of stolen goods were dropped and recovered nearby.

The suspect is described as a tall, very slim male, wearing white shoes, tight-fitting jeans, a possible long-sleeved camouflage shirt, and a backpack.

His face was concealed with a black ski mask.

The items stolen include several unique hooded sweatshirts that are distinctive to the store.

Police said the suspect rummaged through five unlocked vehicles on July 10 and stole items such as sunglasses, cosmetics, gift cards, loose change, and a wallet that contained debit and credit cards.

Criminal charges laid in April collision

On April 21 at around 4:40 a.m., a vehicle slammed into the traffic lights at the intersection of Finch Drive and Wellington Street and rolled, landing on its roof.
