SUV driver charged in crash with motorcycle

A motorcyclist escaped serious injuries in a two vehicle crash in Point Edward on the morning of July 11.

At around 10:40 a.m., Lambton OPP officers responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the intersection of Alexandra Avenue and Venetian Boulevard.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to hospital with minor injuries, and no other injuries were reported.

The driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old from Sarnia, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.

The OPP said if you have an urgent traffic complaint or if you suspect someone is driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
