Transport driver charged in single-vehicle crash

A transport driver has been charged in a crash on Highway 402.

Middlesex OPP, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, and Adelaide Metcalfe Fire were called to the westbound lanes of highway near Seed Road for a single vehicle crash at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

OPP said the driver of a transport truck had lost control on the highway and entered the centre median.

No injuries were reported.

The 28-year-old London driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving.

The single-vehicle crash resulted in a lengthy road closure.

One lane of traffic was closed for the initial investigation and then opened until approximately 12:30 p.m., at which time Middlesex OPP closed both lanes to allow for removal of the transport.

The scene was cleared at about 4 p.m.
