Wildfire smoke forces air quality statement for Sarnia-Lambton

People living in Sarnia-Lambton may notice some wildfire smoke over the next day or two.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement as smoke from forest fires over northern Ontario has moved into the area, causing the air quality to deteriorate.

The poor air quality may persist through the day and possibly into Tuesday for some areas. As smoke levels increase, health risks increase.

The national weather advisory is advising residents to limit time outdoors and consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

When indoors, keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.

When there is an extreme heat event occurring with poor air quality, prioritize keeping cool.
