Inquest announced in 2020 death of Sarnia man

An inquest has been announced by the Ministry of Solicitor General into the death of a 40-year-old man at the Sarnia Jail.

Brent Moore died on August 30, 2020 while in custody on drug trafficking charges.

On August 19, 2020 Moore was arrested in a drug bust on Parker Street where over $126,000 worth of drugs were seized, and was being held for bail at the time of his death.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Moore's death, and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The date of the inquest and the venue was not announced but will be provided at a later time.

An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
