Man arrested for allegedly committing several thefts in Sarnia

Sarnia police have arrested a 41-year-old man who allegedly committed several thefts.

An investigation was launched in early July after multiple bikes and items from vehicles were stolen.

Back on July 10, a suspect was caught on video surveillance stealing from vehicles in the Rapids Parkway area. A 40-year-old man was arrested the next day for allegedly using credit cards taken from these vehicles.

During this arrest, officers obtained evidence that suggested there was a second suspect stealing from vehicles. This suspect has been linked to bike thefts on July 6 and July 22.

Police have since identified the suspect, arresting him on Friday. He's since been charged with six counts of theft under $5,000 and eight counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He's been released from police custody with a future court date of August 21.
