Man faces impaired driving charges in crash

A single-vehicle crash has led to impaired driving charges.

Police were called to the intersection of Murphy Road and Rosedale Avenue on Friday, August 1 at 1:30 a.m.

Officers located the vehicle and driver. The damage on the vehicle was allegedly consistent with nearby tire skid marks that exited the northbound lanes of Murphy Road and struck a fire hydrant.

Police said the vehicle stopped in the middle of Murphy Road.

A 26-year-old man was arrested after he showed signs of intoxication.

After two breath samples police found he was more than two time over the legal limit.

The man was charged with impaired driving, administered a 90 day licence suspension and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
