Alleged impaired driver charged in Lambton Shores crash

A young driver is facing a long list of charges and will not be allowed behind the wheel again for the rest of the summer after a collision in Lambton Shores.

Lambton OPP said a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Dolway Drive, near Outer Drive, just before 5 p.m. on August 6.

The driver, an 18-year-old from London, allegedly left the scene of the crash.

Police found him shortly after.

He was charged with impaired driving, flight from a peace officer, failure to remain, young driver - B.A.C above zero, person under 19 years consuming liquor, having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, and person under 19 years having liquor.

No injuries were reported.

A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on September 15.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
