Grand Ole Power Days kick off Friday

The Sydenham Antique Club is showing off a variety of old and unique tractors in Dawn-Euphemia this weekend.

The 35th annual Grand Ole Power Days is being held at the Florence and District Community Centre on Mill Street.

The two day event begins Friday night with music by Paul White and a dessert auction from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, gates open at 8 a.m. with breakfast served until 11 a.m.

A parade will kick off at 11 a.m. and be followed by tractor games, threshing displays, a silent auction, and vendors on site from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
