The Sarnia Sting are getting geared up for another exciting season of hockey.
The Ontario Hockey League club is holding training camp this week, presented by Ironworks.
All of the action is taking place at Progressive Auto Sales Arena after the facility underwent extensive repairs after last month's heavy rain. This year’s camp will once again culminate with the highly anticipated annual Black vs. White Game in support of the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton.
General Manager Dylan Seca expects a highly competitive camp this year.
“Joining the camp is a strong group of free agent invites all eager to make their mark in the OHL. Wednesday night’s Black and White game should be an exciting matchup to watch," said Seca.
The camp is open to the public, and all scrimmages are free to attend.
The Honeypot will also be open for fans to browse and purchase Sting merchandise ahead of the upcoming season.
Entry to Wednesday's Black vs. White game is by donation and there will be a jersey auction and 50/50 raffle.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and warm ups get underway at 5:30 p.m.
The full training schedule is posted below.
The Sting will start the preseason on August 29 in London before hosting the Knights the following evening.
Sarnia's regular season begins on Friday, September 19 at home to the Windsor Spitfires.
