There is still time to register for the sixth annual Trail and Ale.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 20 and will feature a 5K and 10K run and walk on the Howard Watson Nature Trail from Michigan Avenue and along the Blackwell Trails.
Race Director Erin Gilbert said there are a few different ways participants can secure their spot.
"We've got registration open on rayjon.org, we also have it available linked in through our Instagram account, it's Rayjon Trail and Ale, you can also register on the day of at the event as well before the race starts," she said.
Gilbert said while there is a 19 plus kit, anyone of all ages can participate.
"We do have registration that is free for kids 14 and under for the 5K with a parent registration," she said.
Typically 150 to 175 people participate in the annual Trail and Ale.
This year's goal is $10,000 in support of Rayjon Share Care, which helps provide adult literacy programs in Haiti.
"The goal this year is to increase the adult literacy program in Saint Marc, Haiti, expand the women's federation breadfruit flour initiative, support entrepreneurs in Saint Marc and Cap Haitian, expand community classes in Consuelo Dominican Republic and continue the nutrition in Cap Haitian Haiti as well," she said.
There will be prizes available for the most fundraised, the best race day costume and the best finish time for men, women and kids for the runners and walkers.
An after party with food and drinks will be at Sports, behind Refined Fool at London Road starting at 11 a.m.
Registered participants will also get one craft beer and the first 170 registered participants will receive a custom beer mug.
The live event will be held rain or shine, but in the event of thunder or lightning the event can be completed virtually.
