UPDATE: Woman charged in drive test centre crash

A 73-year-old Sarnia woman is charged with careless driving in a crash at the Ontario Drive Test Examination Centre.

The driver of a Ford Bronco SUV slammed through the front window of the centre on Lambton Mall Road Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 2 p.m.

Sarnia Fire Rescue said the driver had exited the vehicle on their own before crews arrived on scene.

One person inside the building suffered minor cuts to his arm from falling glass.

Sarnia police also responded.

City police said the collision was the result of operator error and no charges were laid at the time.

The structural integrity of the building was also assessed. Police said aside from obvious repairs that are needed, all businesses will be able to remain open.
