Sting ban same ticket re-entry to games with new policy

Sarnia Sting fans will no longer be able to re-enter Progressive Auto Sales Arena (PASA) if they choose to go outside during a game.

The Ontario Hockey League club updated its policy ahead of its first home preseason game against London on Saturday night.

Unlike in previous years, once a ticket has been scanned at the gate, it cannot be scanned a second time or scanned out.

The team said the change is designed to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.

It said the measure is necessary to help regulate the temperature in the building, improve traffic flow, and enforce the fact that PASA is located on Lambton College property, which is a smoke-free campus.

Those who experience an emergency that requires them to leave the arena are asked to report to Guest Services where they will help make accommodations.

Fans are also being reminded that abuse of any kind toward fans, staff, volunteers, players, or referees will not be tolerated.

Ineligible Items include outside food and drinks, large bags, professional cameras, weapons, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, and glass/metal containers.

All bags are subject to inspection at the gates.

The Sarnia Sting will head to London to begin the preseason on Friday night. Saturday's game at PASA will get underway at 7 p.m.

The Sting's regular season kicks off Friday, September 19 at home to the Windsor Spitfires.
