Home damaged in early morning fire

No injuries were reported in a fire Saturday morning.

Sarnia Fire Rescue were called just after 7 a.m. to Blackwell Sideroad and Bluewater Drive.

When firefighters arrived on the scene there was heavy smoke and flames on the front right side of the home.

Fire crews said there was significant damage to the home and exposure damage to a neighbouring structure.

The sole occupant and their pet were able to get out safely before fire crews arrived.

The cause was determined to be accidental, and damage is pegged at around $300,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
