Help sought to ID sexual assault suspect

Sarnia police are circulating the photo of a man being sought in connection to a sexual assault investigation involving an underage girl.

Officers are asking for public assistance to identify the male as they continue an investigation that began on August 24, 2025.

Police said a 16-year-old victim was walking to the library in the area of Veteran's Park at mid-afternoon, when she was allegedly approached by a man who began complimenting her.

Police said she started to feel uncomfortable and went into the library to seek another adult for protection.

The man is accused of following her into the downtown branch, and once inside he allegedly grabbed the victim, pulled her in close, and rubbed his genitals against her.

It's alleged the male also kissed the victim, grabbed her buttocks and breasts, and fondled her.

Police said the male was driving a silver/teal Ford Fusion when he left the area.

He may also have a large scar on his left hand, near his thumb and index finger.

Anyone who can identify the individual is asked to call Det. Cst. Zach Douglas at (519) 344-8861 extension 6247.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-332-TIPS(8477) or online at www.p3tips.com.
