Rotary gives $180K for Pathways therapeutic pool

Pathways Health Centre for Children has received a significant donation for its therapeutic pool.

The Rotary Club of Sarnia gave the health centre $180,000 in support of the Save the Pathways Pool Campaign, which led to a long-planned pool refurbishment in 2020.

This funding represents the final three years of the $600,000 10-year pledge made in 2018.

Recently a sign was installed in honour of the partnership with the rotary club, a sign was recently installed in the pool area.

It reads The Rotary Club of Sarnia Aquatic Centre.

"The Rotary Club of Sarnia has stood beside the mission of Pathways since out beginning- and once again has made known their commitment to supporting children in this community with special needs. We are so grateful to have received their 3 final years of pledge money all in 2025," said CEO Alison Morrison.

In August 2021, the therapeutic pool opened following a $1.6 million renovation.

The health centre said the number of users continues to grow.

Many children and youth on Pathways caseloads and other community members use the pool for parent and tot classes, swim lessons, open swim and exercise classes.

According to Pathways, the pool does not receive government funding and relies on user fees and grants.

Last year, the pool saw over 16,000 visits.

The therapeutic pool initially opened in 1987 at its Murphy Road site.
