LCDS to host largest fundraiser of the year

Residents are invited to check out local food and drinks during the 14th annual Fusion event.

It will be held at Degroots Nurseries on Friday, November 7 with an evening entry and Saturday, November 8 with an afternoon and evening entry.

The event is run by Lambton County Developmental Services (LCDS).

"We're going to be hosting the best of Sarnia-Lambton for food, wine, breweries, distilleries to comes and share food and drink together," said Fusion Committee member Diana Forbes.

There will also be live music at the main stage both days.

Fusion Committee member Krista McCann said it's the largest fundraiser for LCDS.

"Not everything we do or have is funded by the Ministry, so we need to fundraise for accessibility mostly this year, for renovations to bathrooms, ramps, automated doors," she said.

In the past, LCDS have been able to purchase accessible vehicles because of the event.

Last year, over $80,000 was raised and more than 4,000 people attended.

Tickets went on sale Wednesday, September 17 and range from $20 to $25.

Forbes said it's expected to sell out.

"We give a long runway for people to plan their night out and we're hoping to sell out again this year," she said.

Forbes added they are also looking for volunteers for both days.
