High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Sarnia Sting dropped their first road game of the OHL season, 5-2 to the Soo Greyhounds.Jack Van Volsen and Liam Beamish both scored for the Sting, who trailed 3-0 after the first period.Chase Reid had a goal and an assist in the Greyhounds win.Travis Hayes, Tate Vader, Jakub Winkelhofer and Noah Laus also scored for the Soo.The Sarnia Sting were outshot 38-29.Goalie Patrick Quinlan made his second start for the Sting, stopping 33 shots in net.Sarnia is home again on Friday to the visiting Sudbury Wolves. You can catch the game live on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
